KPT 5 FIBEROPTIX

You need:
PSP Version 7.04 30 trial version
KPT 5 ( can't find a page for download this filter)
You will have to contact corel.com it is no longer on their page.
Also it is a very expensive filter.

I wrote it especially for Patao

This has been written to show what you can do with FiberOptix from KPT 5. I will show you two options, one making an image using PSP and FiberOptix from KPT 5, and one for text using PSP and FiberOptix from KPT 5.

For the heart I have made a separate tutorial with selections. You can find it HERE . That way you don't need the KPT 5 filter and still can make the heart with the edge.

I will Begin with the heart. Later on the second page I will show you how to use it for the text.

1. Open a new ( transparent) image 500 by 500 for the heart.

2. Set the Foreground-color to a dark color of your choice and the Background-color must be closed.

3. Click on the shapes tool and search in the dropdown menu for the heart 1. You can choose anoher shape if you want. The heart is just an example for this tutorial.

Settings for the heartshape: ant alias checked, linewidth10, single line:

4. Draw a heart beginning at 100 - 100 going to 400 - 400. You can see this on the bottom of PSP. See screenshot:

5. Make a copy of this layer in the layer palette and hide the copy by clicking on the glasses. Make sure we are working on layer 1.

6. Selections / Select All, Selections / Float.

7. Effects /Plugins /KPT 5 --> FiberOptix. with these settings:
Click on the litle button (1) and the % bar (2) will show up. With the black arrow (3) you can move it up and down you can place it on the the % you need.

Fiber Density: 90%
Fiber Length: 15%
Fiber Tapering: 0%
Fiber Flatness: 100%
Direction Angle: 100%
Direction Intensity: 0%
Mask Bevel Width: 10%
Blend Noise to Mask: 0%

You can play with these settings as you wish. The Fibbers can get bigger, smaller, thinner, thicker.. See for yourself what option to use. Select None.

If you Click on the glasses of the copy of layer 1in the layer palette then it will be visible again. You have this;

You can now work with the heart as you wish. This part was to show you how to make an edge like on the heart with KPT 5 FiberOptix. You can do this with every shape there is.
