3d Superchecker Background

you need:
PSP Versie 7.04  
Toadies filter download HERE
Sandy Blair's Simple Filters Download HERE  We will be using the Diamonds Filter.

Note: The top background is made by contracting with 10 pixels, : or you could contract by 5 pixels – see my example tile at the bottom of this page.

1. Open a new image 150 by 150 pixels.

2. Set Foreground-color to a dark or bright color and pick a lighter one for you Background-color from the same family. I used these #FFFF00(yellow) and #FFFFC0 (lightyellow).

3.Selections/ Select All. Floodfill with Foreground-color.

4. Selections / Modify/ contract with 10 pixels. Floodfill the selection with the background-color.

5. Selections / Modify/ contract with 10 pixels.  Floodfill the selection with the Foreground-color.

6. Selections / Modify/ contract with 10 pixels.  Floodfill the selection with the background-color.

7. Selections / Modify/ contract with 10 pixels.  Floodfill the selection with the Foreground-color.

 8. Selections / Modify/ contract with 10 pixels.  Floodfill the selection with the background-color.

9. Selections / Modify/ contract with 10 pixels.   Floodfill the selection with the Foreground-color.

10. Selections / Modify/ contract with 10 pixels.   Floodfill the selection with the background-color. Select none.

11.  Select the dark borders with the magic wand ( tolerance=0 Feather=0), I had 4 borders with that color.

12. Effects / Plugins / Toadies --> 3D Superchecker with these settings:

Keep selected.

13. Selections / Invert. Effects / 3D effects / Innerbevel with these settings: 

Keep selected.

14. Selections / Invert. Selections / Float. Effects / 3D Effects / Cutout with these settings:

Select None.

15. Effects / Plugins / Simple --> Diamonds. Go to your layer palette en move the opacity to 50%. 

The end result is the one you can see on top of this Tutorial.

By this on I contract by 5 instead of 10:
