We are going to make this little boy.
I did set my flood fill bucket's blend mode on normal and the match mode on none.
This way you flood fill all the floating selections in one time.
(I used a photo to make my tut)

Download here the selections

Open a new image 225x500 with a transparent background.

The Back Hat.
Open the ribbon.sel and flood fill it with the color #485586.
Deselect the selection.

Open the ribbon2.sel and flood fill it with the color #55649B.
Deselect the selection.

Open the hat.sel and flood fill it with the color #E1C49C.
Deselect the selection.

Open the hat2.sel and flood fill it with the color #D6AE76.
Deselect the selection.

Arm and leggs.
Add a new layer.
Open the bparts.sel and flood fill it with the color #F1CDBA.
Deselect the selection.

Open the bparts2.sel and flood fill it with the color #CB9688.
Deselect the selection.

The Backsleeve.
Add a new layer.
Open the bsleeve.sel and flood fill it with the color #F7F4EB.
Deselect the selection.

Open the bsleeve2.sel and flood fill it with the color #E0D7BE.
Deselect the selection.

Open the bsleeve3.sel and flood fill it with the color #55649B.
Deselect the selection.

Open the bsleeve4.sel and flood fill it with the color #404B76.
Deselect the selection.

Open the bsleeve5.sel and flood fill it with the color #F7F4EB.
Deselect the selection.

The Backpants.
Add a new layer.
Open the bpants.sel and flood fill it with the color #55649B.
Deselect the selection.

Deselect the selection.

The Frontpants.
Add a new layer.
