Basic Penguin tutorial

We are going to make this Basic Penguin.
With this penguin you can make the others on the bottom of this page.
The tube you create from this tutorial is yours.

Download here the selections and supplies..

Start by opening a new image 450x470 on a transparent background.

Open my bbody.sel and flood fill with the color #5B5757.

With the selection floating go to selections/invert.

With this selection floating go to:
Effects/3d effects/drop shadow and use these settings:
Vertical 0,horizontal 0,opacity 100,blur 100,color black.

Deselect the selection.
Go to effects/noise.
And add a 3% uniform noise.

add a new layer and call it wbody.
Open my wbody.sel and flood fill with the color #FFFFFF.

With the selection floating go to selections/invert.

With this selection floating go to:
Effects/3d effects/drop shadow and use these settings:
Vertical 0,horizontal 0,opacity 60,blur 70,color black.

Deselect the selection.
Go to effects/noise.
And add a 3% uniform noise.

add a new layer and call it eyes.
Open my eyes.sel.
And paste into selection my eyes.psp.
Deselect the selection.

Add a new layer and call it beak.
Open my beak.sel and flood fill with the color #F9C469.
With the selection floating go to selections/invert.

With this selection floating go to:
Effects/3d effects/drop shadow and use these settings:
Vertical 0,horizontal 0,opacity 60,blur 30,color black.

Deselect the selection.
Go to effects/noise.
And add a 3% uniform noise.

Add a new layer and call it noseholes.
Open my noseholes.sel and flood fill with the color black.
Deselect the selection.

Add a new layer and call it item.
We leave this layer for now.

Add a new layer and call it wings.
Open my wings.sel and flood fill it with the color #5B5757.
With the selection floating go to selections/invert.

With this selection floating go to:
Effects/3d effects/drop shadow and use these settings:
Vertical 0,horizontal 0,opacity 80,blur 50,color black.

Deselect the selection.
Go to effects/noise.
And add a 3% uniform noise.

Add a new layer and call it legs.
Open my legs.sel and flood fill it with the color #F9C469.
With the selection floating go to selections/invert.

With this selection floating go to:
Effects/3d effects/drop shadow and use these settings:
Vertical 0,horizontal 0,opacity 70,blur 50,color black.

Deselect the selection.
Go to effects/noise.
And add a 3% uniform noise.
Your penguin should now look like this:

Your basic penguin is ready now.
You can use it as tube.
To make more penguins:
save your basic penguin in unmerged layers.
