Acorn tutorial

We are going to make this Acorn.
The tube you create from this tutorial is yours.
(I made the acorn using a photo)

Download here the selections and supplies..

Start by opening a new image 90x100 on a transparent background.

Open my acorn1.sel and flood fill with one of the 3 acorn colors.

With the selection floating go to selections/invert.
And with this selection floating go to effects/3d effects/drop shadow.
And use these settings:
Vertical 0,horizontal 0,opacity 50,blur 25,color black.

Deselect the selection.
Go to effects/noise/add.
And add a 3% uniform noise.

Add a new layer.
Open my acorn2.sel and flood fill with the color #8D8F89.

With the selection floating go to selections/invert.
And with this selection floating go to effects/3d effects/drop shadow.
And use these settings:
Vertical 0,horizontal 0,opacity 40,blur 20,color black.

Go to effects/noise/add.
And add a 3% uniform noise.

Now merge layers visible.

Open my acorn3.sel.
And go to colors/adjust/brightness.
Use a brightness of -20.

Deselect the selection and your acorn is ready.

I used the acorn to make a tub with mushrooms and acorns.
